He is not an impersonal manifestation of the universe. He created the universe and rules it and commands His creatures, that includes us, to obey Him.

There is a pattern here.

Heresy means to split off from the truth. There is only truth and lies, never both. The elite have chosen for themselves lies - because they will not come to the truth. Jesus spoke of them, particularly the Pharisees, but all like them:

Gospel of John 3:19 And this is the judgment: because the light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than the light: for their works were evil. 20 For every one that doth evil hateth the light, and cometh not to the light, that his works may not be reproved."
